THE CHIGAGO-BASED CULT HORROR “INCALL” HAS BEEN FORCED TO CANCEL IT’S SCREENING AT THE PATIO THEATER, MAKING IT THE SECOND INDIE CANCELLED AT THE PATIO IN A MONTH; BUT IS IT THE LAST?
Chicago, IL, Jan. 21, 2015 – Executive producer Steven Deibert and writer, producer, director, and actor, Brock Riebe, have announced that the Jan. 31st Special Screening of their Indie Cult Horror “INCALL” (think Henry: Portrait of a serial Killer meets Brokeback Mountain), was forced to cancel at The Patio Theater.
Incall is a cleverly crafted story about Kasey (played by Riebe), a young man “down on his luck” who, through a bizarre set of circumstances, begins murdering his massage clients with the assistance of a young cat burglar (played by Ben Muller).
This cancellation comes after numerous problems caused by The Patio Theater and its management company, The Portage Theater Group (who also manage The Portage Theater). Those problems included significant and repeated misrepresentations concerning equipment, abusive and inappropriate emails from The Portage Theater Group management, mismanagement of ticket sales, and continued failures to respond to basic requests or show up for essential meetings with Incall personnel.
Mr. Riebe commented, saying: “It is truly unfortunate when people like Demetri Kouvalis (owner of The Patio), and his management company, misrepresent themselves and the services that they will offer, doing damage to films like ours as well as damaging reputations with total disregard for all the work it takes to bring a film like this to fruition…. The Patio Theater is a beautiful venue, which could be a success if it were in the hands of people who valued their own reputations and that of the theater.”
But Incall plans to prove itself very much the-little-indie-that-COULD! They are already planning a new screening at The Landmark Century Theater in Lakeview with a tentative screening date of March 5th! For more information visit their website: www.incallmovie.com.
“Kathryn Upside Down”: Indie Film Suffered Similar Fate with Patio Theater
Like Incall, Allie Loukas’ film “Kathryn Upside Down”, a dramedy about a girl in her twenties who meets her biological father, a plumber, for the first time after the toilet overflows at an upscale garden party, had similar issues with The Patio Theater and its management. She was also forced to cancel her film before its screening.
Ms. Loukas commented: “Demetri and Alex (rep. at Portage Theater Group) are not responsible business owners, their unethical and irresponsible behavior forced me to cancel and reschedule a screening of my film…. They misrepresented their equipment and the state of their facility…. They allowed and encouraged me to go on the news and inform other media outlets of my screening being aware they were incapable of hosting the event. The theater wanted and knew they were getting free media coverage off of my film, and did not follow through with their commitment. I hope this will warn other independent filmmakers to proceed with great caution if they are even considering using the Patio Theater to host their event.”

It is important to note that The Patio Theater just reopened December 4th as the result of a successful “Kickstarter” campaign, led by Demetri Kouvalis, which raised over $54,000. When it was announced that the theater would be reopening under Eddie Carranza’s (owner of The Portage Theater who has a record for having his theater’s shut down by the city) team, Ald. (38) Tim Cullerton voiced concerns calling Mr. Carranza’s record “worrisome”.

Second male masseur files sexual assault charges against John Travolta!
UPDATE: The original story (above) was removed in 2023 after I exposed that it was FAKE. But here’s another link to the same story (below). This one is listed as 2012 but I saw the article, which I posted above, in 2014 (and I posted it that same day!) not long after finishing production of “Incall”. It was so weird; I felt like it was literally mimicking my film; and it was, Sick fucks.

Lightning has struck twice in a sex assault case involving John Travolta.
Travolta is being sued by two unnamed male masseurs — John Does No. 1 and 2 — who both claim the actor tried to have sex with them during massage sessions.
John Doe No. 2 filed a $2 million sex assault suit Tuesday morning in a Los Angeles court claiming “substantial documentation and numerous witnesses regarding the substance of Travolta’s actions,” RadarOnline reports.
John Doe No. 1 filed a sexual assault lawsuit on Monday.
Both are being represented by the same attorney.

The “Grease” star’s rep labeled the first accuser’s claims “complete fiction” in a statement and threatened legal action.
The second alleged victim says that on January 28, 2012, at an Atlanta, Georgia resort, during an in-room massage, Travolta removed the sheet from his body and asked for his buttocks to be massaged, during which time he opened his legs to reveal an erection. He then tried to “force Doe Plaintiff No. 2’s hand on Travolta’s scrotum. Then, Travolta started to grab, rub and caress Doe Plaintiff no. 2’s upper thighs and buttocks,” RadarOnline.com reports the lawsuit states.
The first alleged victim told a similar story, alleging Travolta, 58, touched the unnamed plaintiff’s genitals, propositioned him and touched himself lewdly.
Travolta’s rep said in a statement to E! News that John Doe No. 1’s claim was a lie and the “Pulp Fiction” star was on the East Coast on the day the incident allegedly occurred.
“This lawsuit is complete fiction and fabrication,” it reads. “None of the events claimed in the suit ever occurred. The plaintiff, who refuses to give their name, knows that the suit is a baseless lie.

“Plaintiff’s attorney has filed this suit to try and get his 15 minutes of fame. John intends to get this case thrown out and then he will sue the attorney and plaintiff for malicious prosecution.”
But John Doe is fighting back, telling RadarOnline.com on Tuesday: “I have proof to support the truth that I’m telling.”
He refused to divulge what that proof was, RadarOnline.com reported.

The lawsuit claims Travolta booked the massage from an online advertisement and offered to pick the man up in his black Lexus SUV. The pair then drove to the Beverly Hills Hotel before continuing on to the actor’s personal bungalow.
Travolta allegedly stripped naked in front of the masseur before beginning the massage. After about an hour Travolta allegedly rubbed the man’s leg and touched his genitals.
The plaintiff said he told Travolta he would not have sex with him but claims the “Saturday Night Fever” star responded by offering to perform a sexual act.
The lawsuit goes on to say that Travolta subsequently masturbated and told the masseur that his Hollywood career could only progress “due to sexual favors.”
The masseur is seeking $2 million plus punitive damages.
Travolta, who is an ambassador for Australia’s flagship airline Qantas, has been married to actress Kelly Preston since 1991. The couple had three children together. Their oldest son Jett died tragically from a seizure in 2009.
Preston gave birth to the youngest of their children, Benjamin, in November last year.
